Timeless pieces.

1978 Proust Geometric chair for Cappellini

Sometimes piece which are the most shocking when created get negative attention. The chair above, I cannot get enough of today. I saw this chair about 5 years ago and remember how out of fashion it was.  Today, it looks like this early 20th Century style frame circa 1915-1920 or so with pre-1980's color blocking and 1970's disco flair was just crafted for the first time.

What's more is that the ornate frame was fabulously incorporated with painted finish to match.

Fashion Sense

With more frequency, fashion & furniture are going hand in hand. It was once perceived that the industries were completely separate. It's now quite the contrary. With companies like Anthropology to Missoni or other big box stores known for fashion (among other new endeavors), like Target- furniture is infused with the same designer aesthetic approach.

This in mind, a couple of my more favorite recent American invasion retail stores are becoming more accessible, Zara of Spain & Topman from Britain. It's only time before all furniture will be influenced with the flamboyant fringes, materials, patterns and seams with  cutting edge runway looks mirrored by today's global culture.
I've been waiting for these; Men's 'Kane' Animal Shoes @ Topman USA
This Blue Rose Sublimation Printed Sweatshirt is what I'm talking about!

Attention to detail is key to good design as I'm sure I've noted before. This  Fil-A-Fil Shirt by Zara -Man- is an example of how furniture can also win with classic tailoring.
Red Floral Batik Print Topman shorts are a tip of the iceberg for textiles which can also be found for upholstery. Tame GAP, J. CREW or Banana Republic? I think not. Hello World.
